GGP Inc. Celebrates First Anniversary in Suffern Studio

September marked my first anniversary in the Studio here on Wayne Avenue. It’s been a great year highlighted by many new friends and business associates, new challenges and a lot of exciting new opportunities and experiences.

It’s pretty hard not to love the 1500 square feet of space, the great location and easy access to all major highways. Best of all, just down the block, there’s beautiful downtown Suffern- character, amenities and charm.

If you haven’t stopped by to visit, give me a call at 845.357.9028 or email gg@ggphoto.net to schedule an appointment

RBA EXPO 2002 – a great experience!

On Wednesday, October 2nd, Gene Gouss Photography exhibited at the Rockland Business Association EXPO 2002. More than 200 companies displayed their products and services, enjoying the opportunity to greet the public and network with other business professionals. It was a great experience for me, yielding several good contacts. Thanks to all who stopped by to see me and discuss their imaging needs.

Did you see my picture in the Rockland Journal News? Their Thursday, October 3rd coverage of the EXPO included a photo of me demonstrating my digital capture system to Tom Caulfield from Northern Business Systems. I was very lucky to receive such great exposure- thanks to everyone who called in response to seeing it.

Digital Capture – GGP acquires new technology

Digital photography has come a long, long way in the past few years. For 2002, I have invested in a state-of-the-art 35mm style digital camera system and laptop computer to offer clients the digital option. The benefits of digital capture include instant review of the image, immediate availability of a file, lower production costs, while maintaining the high quality level (sharpness and detail) long associated with film based photography.

Think about this…while preparing for exhibiting at the RBA EXPO 2002, I took a chance and had a 20”x30” print made of a recent digital studio portrait. I was shocked by the outstanding sharpness and detail- the print compared very favorably with other display prints made from drum scans of large format transparencies. Truly awesome.

No, I haven’t disposed of my 4x5, Hasselblad and 35mm camera systems! Along with digital, each system is a tool selected by the photographer to meet the specific requirements each assignment presents.

I’d love to show you how I’ve been applying this technology to meet some of my client’s needs. Come by the Studio to view the results or I can bring the system to you. Check it out- it may be the right solution for your imaging needs as well.
